ABO Certified Orthodontist

Mack Orthodontics is proud to be home to a doctor certified by the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) - Dr. Steven Mack.

There are many steps doctors must go through in order to become licensed orthodontists. They complete a graduate program in dentistry, thus earning a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree. Also, they must fulfill a 2 - 3 year residency program at a CODA-accredited orthodontic program that trains them specifically in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

Additionally, in order to become certified with the ABO, orthodontists must undergo hundreds of additional hours of training and examination that sharpens their orthodontic judgment, skills, knowledge, and patient care tactics. An ABO orthodontist must demonstrate the ability to provide the highest quality functional and esthetic results. As such, this certification is attained by fewer than 30% of all orthodontists in the country.

Our orthodontics practice is a preferred provider for Delta Dental and Hawk-I insurance plans. Once treatment has started, we will file your claims. We have a full-time financial coordinator trained to help determine the amount of coverage available under your insurance plan and to assist you with any insurance issues that may arise.

The American Board of Orthodontics is the only orthodontic board recognized by the American Dental Association. It sets the standards globally for excellence in orthodontics, orthodontic patient care, and dentofacial orthopedics. The ABO's mission is to elevate orthodontic care through “certification, education, and professional collaboration.”
